Poznań

Another important place in Poznań is Ostrów Tumski (the Cathedral Island), which is the oldest part of the city – the oldest cathedral in Poland is situated there, and it is said to be the place where the Baptism of Poland took place.

The modern Poznań is a cultural and entertainment center bustling with life night and day. Around 130,000 students contribute to the amazing energy of Poznań – every night, they gather in numerous clubs, pubs and cafés and have fun until the light of day.

A place which is especially interesting and frequently visited by tourists is Półwiejska Street, along which there are a lot of shops and restaurants. Stary Browar is also situated there, and it has been officially named by the ICSC the most beautiful shopping center in the world.
